The Wedding

The other day, my cousin finally married the girl of his dreams. It was such a momentous event and I couldn't be any happier for the both of them.

I know I make it sound like a big deal, but it is a big deal because a) I haven't attended a wedding in over ten years and b) it's the first wedding of our generation. Of course questions regarding our own "big day" have also started. All I've got to say is that it's still too early to answer those kinds of questions. :D

It was a really, really special event and I took it as an opportunity to get all dolled-up. As I mentioned before, even though I'm not really a part of the entourage, I wanted to have a dress sewn especially for the wedding. I wanted a one-shoulder dress at the beginning but all it took was one look at a picture of a 50's Sabrina style dress to change my mind.

dress - custom-made, shoes - folded & hung

I was the one who bought and chose the fabric myself (well, with the help of my younger cousin). Believe it or not, I just bought it at the wet market near our house. I chose a black and white polka-dotted fabric at first but my mom was against me wearing a somber color on a wedding. When I went fabric shopping once again I found this lovely floral printed cotton cloth. It made me a bit nostalgic since I remember having a dress with this kind of floral print when I was a kid.

Since the dress was relatively simple and rendered me a bit childlike, I chose a pair of shoes that contradicted all that. I swear, the answer to a rather simple outfit is a pair of fierce heels. :D
